Olga studied at Mkwawa University College of Education. She completed Form 6 at Kiuta Secondary. She finished her O-level studies at Hagati Secondary in the Hagati valley, near Mbinga. Her father is a catechist, earning a small stipend of $18 per month to support their family of five. Apart from farming, her mother also helps weave mats to make some money, but the amount is not enough to cover all of Olga’s fees. They are small scale coffee farmers, but barely harvest enough to cover their expenses. Olga hopes to one day be a nurse so that she will be able to help her family out.
