Wilfred

Wilfred studied at the Institute of Finance Management in Dar es Salaam. Formerly he was a secondary school teacher at Mahuta Secondary School, but now he is studying Accounting. His parents are both deceased and his younger siblings depend on him for school fees and other support.

Yahaya

Yahaya studied at Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies. He finished Form 6 at Ndanda Secondary School, where he studied HKL (History, Kiswahili, English). He was fourth in his school in 2008’s form four exams, with a division III of 23 points. His mother is a widow and depends on subsistence farming to support him and his younger siblings. He hopes to succeed in his education in order to secure a good job which will enable him to assist those in poverty. At his former school he was involved with student government and debate.

Winifrida

Winifrida finished Form 4 student at Ruvuma Secondary School. She was a strong student, ranking as the fourth girl in her class. As a student she had hopes of continuing on in school through university and becoming an engineer, in order to help put her younger siblings through school and to help her mother out. Her father passed away and she lives with her mother, older sister and three younger siblings. Her mother sells tomatoes and onions and her sister occasionally works as a tailor.
